Suor Angelica and Pagliacci is an evening of one act Operas. This evening is about death.

Suor Angelica kills herself in the end she does this because she is sent to living in a stony, vast church. The church itself is manicured but cold, it is kept neat but it is getting old. The church has a court yard that houses a fountain, but most importantly a garden which is Angelicas sanctuary. She knows how to use plants to heel or hinder. The garden will decide her fait.

Pagliacci is the second show our evening of one acts. Pagliacci is a jealous clown who thinks his wife is cheating on him, which she is. Pagliacci is a more earthy show. It takes place in a village that has a crowded park feel to it. It is Assumption Day and an acting troupe has showed up to put on a play. Because of the Assumption Day holiday feel I wanted the Commedia show to have a circus feel to it.

Suor is more of a cold, grey, vast, manicured show while Pagliacci is a earthy, crowded and enclosed.
